646f9e108c Eight years after the cult trilogy, Ash is back, and so are the deadites. Armed with a shotgun, a chainsaw, and a mouth full of one-liners, Ash battles for his life and the good of mankind through this horrifically funny 3D adventure… Well… maybe just for his life. Sometime after the events of the Evil Dead movie trilogy, traumatized Ash is still haunted by nightmares, so he decides to return to the cabin in the forest with his new girlfriend and face his fears. History repeats itself. This game was great for the time period it was released. The intro movie and story to it is amazing, and picks up after where Army of Darkness left off, but once you start actually playing the game, it's basically like playing through the whole Evil Dead trilogy. Just about everything that happens in the movies you have to play through. (Even when you think the game is about to end, you go back in time like in AOD) The game has a perfect sense of eeriness to it and also throws in Bruce Campbell's signature humor. It is one of the few games that held my attention all the way through until I beat it. (Of course I am a huge Evil Dead fan though!) I own this for the Dreamcast and have always found that the games that were released on DreamcastwellPlaystation 2 always played and controlled in a much cleaner fashion on the Dreamcast. Simply put, if you are a fan of Evil Dead, Bruce Campbell and horror games, you will enjoy this game! When I grabbed the copy of this game, I ran home and tired on my PS2 with smoother texture mapping. The backgrounds are a beauty and the sound effects are candy to the ears. The Cinemas match that of the last two Resident Evil Games for Playstation. Everything, from the one-liners to the Deadites to even the Ancient Damascus level brought a tear of joy to my eye. The controls were only a problem during boss battles, but nothing was a problem with my trusty Gameshark (Yeah! that's right! I cheat!). This is the next best franchise that may take Resident Evil's throneking of survival horror, unless Silent Hill can do it first. Anyway, this game worth the time spent on it. Rent it! Buy it then return it! Whatever you need to do! Just play the game and inevitable get hooked!
